Looking through the boxes in the basement—who were you then?

What year was this?
I definitely remember my friend Brandon and I passing Manual back and forth for years, talking in first names and URLs like it was our job. We worshipped at the altar of the cult of personality and awesome young internet writers and I’m fairly certain that between the two of us, we sent {or thought about sending} every person on that list an email at some point in our high school lives.
